Nuffic Scholarships 2009-10 Netherlands – Master In Tourism Destination Management (TDM)

Institute: NHTV – Breda University of Applied Sciences, The Netherlands
Programme: Master in Tourism Destination Management
Degree: (international recognized) Master in Tourism Destination Management (“Master TDM”). The degree is accredited by the Accreditation Board of the ministry of education, The Netherlands

Number of scholarships: 5
Value of grant: Full tuition and accommodation for one year.
Eligibility:
- Countries: Only applicants from non-EER countries are eligible for this scholarship. Students from EER-countries as well as non-EER students with residence in the EU are not eligible.
- Degree: Candidates applying for this scholarship should have a (completed) bachelor degree with excellent academic records and a thorough command of written and spoken English.
- Paper: Applicants are requested to present a written assignment on impacts of tourism development in a destination.
- References: Applicants must, additionally, provide two references (for example from a university, work environment, or other professional setting).
How To Apply:
The application procedure is as follows:
- Applicants must register as a candidate for the master programme of Tourism Destination Management at NHTV. The application form can be downloaded from: http://www.nhtv.nl/default.aspx?themaset=baa8a568-c88e-44af-af7b-76cb52d6b3cd
- Mention on this application form that you will apply for a NUFFIC scholarship.
- Applicants should include a paper of no more than 1.000 words on the topic: ”impacts of tourism on a destination”, and relate this to a destination of their choice.
- Based on your application and paper, an telephone intake interview will take place. After this, the NHTV will determine whether you are eligible for a scholarship.
- If the answer is positive, you will receive an admission letter from the NHTV (by Email)
- With this admission letter, you can apply directly for a NUFFIC scholarship with the NUFFIC application form, to be downloaded from http://www.nuffic.nl/international-students/scholarships . The scholarship is called “fellowships for Master”. (NUFFIC scholarships applications are processed by the Dutch embassy in your country.)

The application portfolio to apply for the Master TDM programme needs to contain:
- Application form with copies of diploma’s
- Curriculum Vitae with a personal motivation for following the course Paper
- 2 References
Grant award period: 2009-2010. The programme starts the second week of September, 2009.
Important Dates: 1 December, 2009. Applicants will receive an answer before July 15 2010.
