The University of Xiamen offers The Chinese Gov. Scholarships for the academic year 2010/11 to International Students in China
The “Chinese Government Scholarships — Postgraduate Study Project”, set up by the Ministry of Education of China (MOE), is intended to provide support for building universities to an international high level, and to promote Chinese higher education. Enrolment is managed directly by China’s key universities. The MOE has entrusted the China Scholarship Council (CSC) with maintaining the enrolment records and handling the routine management.
Who is Eligible:
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.
- Applicants must not be not studying currently at a Chinese university — students already studying in China can apply for a Distinguished International Student Scholarship provided by the CSC.
- Educational background and age limits:
- Applicants for master’s degree courses must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
- Applicants for doctoral courses must hold a master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
How to Apply:
- Applicants applying for 2010 Chinese Government Scholarship-Postgraduate Study Program to study in Xiamen University should make the online application both on the web of China Scholarship Council and the Admissions Office of Xiamen University.
- Applicants should print the scholarship application form in duplicate from http://laihua.csc.edu.cn(Agency No. of Xiamen University: 10384) and submit it together with other application materials to the admissions Office of Xiamen University before the application deadline.
Application Materials:
Applicants must provide one copy of the following materials completed truly and correctly:
- Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship, completed in Chinese or in English.
- Notarised copy of highest diploma. Applicants who are currently studying at university or already in employment must also provide study certificates or employment documents. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must have notarised translations into Chinese or English attached.
- Notarised photocopy of transcripts. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must have notarised translations into Chinese or English attached.
- A study or research plan in Chinese or in English (minimum 800 words).
- Two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English by professors or associate professors.
- Chinese or English Proficiency Certificate.
- Photocopy of valid passport.
- Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English.
