Entrance Scholarships 2010/11-Exter University-UK

The University of Exter offers The Entrance Scholarships to candidates who reside in Devon and the South West region of Great Britain for the year 2010/11 in UK

The University invites applications for the Entrance Scholarships from candidates who reside in Devon and the South West region of Great Britain and who are offered an undergraduate place at the University (Exeter and Cornwall campuses) through UCAS during the 2009/10 application cycle for degrees commencing in October 2010 or October 2011 (deferred entry applicants).


Eligibility:

It is available to new students under the age of 19 enrolling at the University in October 2010. Applications will be considered from students applying for any degree subject who are ordinarily resident in the County of Devon prior to enrolment and who have obtained three A grades at GCE A-Level (excluding General Studies) or equivalent. Family income will also be taken into consideration.


Scholarship Details:

  1. Awards are made for one year initially and are renewed annually to a maximum of nine terms (three academic years) subject to satisfactory academic progress at the University. No awards can be made once the applicant has reached the age of 21.
  2. The initial selection and notification process will be undertaken before applicants are required to confirm their firm choice options via UCAS in April. Conferal of the award is therefore conditional upon selecting the University as Firm choice institution and the outcome of examination results in August (if applicable).


Application Process:

  1. Applicants applying for deferred entry onto degree programmes commencing in October 2011 can submit an application during their GAP year post confirmation of a place in summer 2010, i.e. from October 2010 onwards until the prescribed deadline for the 2011 entry scheme (date to be confirmed).
  2. Applicants will need to complete the Trust Application form detailing relevant academic qualifications and parental income. This form will need to be signed by a parent (or legal guardian) for verification purposes.
