Ernest William File Scholarships 2010/11-Undergraduate Students-Massey University-New Zealand

Massey University offers the Ernest William File Scholarships for Undergraduate Students for the 2010/11 session in New Zealand

The Scholarship was established in 1978 by members of the New Zealand Locomotive Engineers’ Association as a tribute to Ernest William File, the retiring General Secretary of the Association at that time.The Scholarship was adopted and expanded by the Rail & Maritime Transport Union and expanded to all members. he Scholarship shall be known as the Ernest William File Scholarship.


Eligibility:

  1. The Scholarship shall be open to any applicant, who is a child of financial members of the union at the time of application.
  2. Applicants shall not have graduated at any University /Tertiary Institution, in New Zealand or elsewhere.

Application procedure:

  1. The Scholarship shall be awarded in respect of University study by a Scholarship Committee consisting of the General Secretary of the Rail & Maritime Transport Union, the Vice-Chancellor of the Victoria University of Wellington or his/her Nominee, and the Convenor of the Scholarship Committee of the Victoria University of Wellington.
  2. Written applications for the scholarship should include details of scholastic achievement, career intentions, the names and addresses of two persons for reference purposes and should be sent to the General Secretary, Rail & Maritime Transport Union, P O Box 1103, Wellington. The closing date for applications is 31 January, 2010.
