Massey University offers The Harry Tolley & L J Wild Scholarships to Undergraduate Students for the 2010/11 session in New Zealand
The scholarship arises from a capital sum of $10,000 provided jointly and in equal shares by Mrs Merle Palmer Elliot and Mrs Joyce Marion Boyce in memory of their father the late Mr Harry Tolley of Hodder and Tolley Limited and the late Dr L.J. Wild, founding Headmaster of Feilding Agricultural High School.The H. Tolley and L.J. Wild Scholarship shall have a value determined each year from the interest earned on the capital.
Eligibility:
This Scholarship shall be open to:
- all students normally domiciled in New Zealand who are enrolled for a Bachelor of AgriScience degree, a Bachelor of AgriCommerce, or the Agricultural Science or Horticultural Science major of a Bachelor of Science degree. Bachelor of Environmental management students who can demonstrate in their application a genuine interest in agriculture will also be considered.
- Preference shall be given to former pupils of Feilding High School.
- Candidates must have successfully completed at least 100 academic points of the degree programme in which they are enrolled except in the case of a former pupil of Feilding Agricultural High School who will be eligible for an award for the first year of study.
Application Procedure:
- The scholarship shall be awarded annually as funds permit on the recommendation of the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee provided that applications are of sufficient merit. Recommendation shall be based on the candidate’s academic attainment.
- Applications close with the Scholarships Office, Graduate Research School on 10 March in the year in which the award is to be made.
