PhD Studentships 2010/11-Nottingham University-UK

The Arthritis Research Campaign (ARC) National Pain Centre at the University of Nottingham offers PhD Studentships to International students for the year 2010/11 in UK

Applications are invited for up to two four-year PhD studentships within the newly created Arthritis Research Campaign (ARC) National Pain Centre at the University of Nottingham.  The successful students will join a multidisciplinary team, developing their project within a programme of translational research into the mechanisms of pain in knee osteoarthritis (OA).  Available projects are suitable for those with a background in psychology, neuroscience, pharmacology, physiology, anatomy or evidence-based medicine.  The project titles and descriptions are listed below, click on the links for more information.

Who may Apply:

Applicants must have a UK 2:i degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.  Studentships include the payment of tuition fees at the HEU rate and a provide a maintenance stipend of approximately £13,650 per year (2010/11).  International students are welcome to apply, but would have to self-fund the difference between the HEU and International tuition fee.  The University of Nottingham offers some scholarships to cover fees, but in open competition with other non-EU students.
