The Museum Victoria 1854 Student Scholarships are offered for the year 2010/11 to applicants undertaking an Honours, Masters or PhD research project related to Museum Victoria’s collections, or in association with a Museum researcher in Australia

Commemorating the establishment of the Museum in 1854, the 1854 Student Scholarships aim to:

  1. Increase awareness of Museum Victoria’s research in the university community;
  2. Train students in fields relevant to Museum Victoria;
  3. Provide opportunities for developing partnerships between Museum Victoria and universities; and
  4. Enhance Museum Victoria’s collections.

Sydney Chinese Lions Humanitarian Scholarships 2010/11-Australia

The Sydney Chinese Lions Humanitarian Scholarship are offered for the year 2010/11 to Any student studying at one of the universities in Sydney

The Lions Club of Sydney Chinese Inc is a member of Lions Clubs International, an international non profit community service organization, upholding a common motto “WE SERVE”. Today, there are Lions Clubs in 205 countries and geographical areas all over the world.  In District 201N5, which covers the Sydney area and Norfolk Island, there are some 75 Clubs with around 1,700 members.  Amongst these, there are 7 Chinese-based Clubs.  The Club is the first of these Chinese-based Clubs chartered in April 1995. Currently, including the Associate Memberships of International 1st Vice President Sid L Scruggs III and PID Barry Palmer, AM together with 94 Regular Members, the Club’s membership stands at 96. In terms of membership numbers, the Club enjoys top ranking amongst all Lions clubs in the District.

The Monash University and The China Scholarship Council offer The Doctoral Scholarship Program for the year 2010/11 to Chinese students in Auatralia

The China Scholarship Council and and Monash University have established a collaborative scholarship program so that high quality Chinese students  may undertake a PhD or master of philosophy/research masters degree leading to a doctoral degree at Monash . Long-term research co-operation between Monash University and Chinese universities is a further aim of the program. A number of candidates each year will be awarded scholarships that cover tuition fees and provide a living allowance for up to three years in the first instance. Scholarship allowances also meet overseas student health cover (OSHC), visa application fees and the cost of a return international air fare between Australia and China.

The Joseph William Gottstein Memorial Trust offers The Gottstein Forest Industry Scholarships to Undergraduates and Postgraduate Students for the year 2010/11 in Australia

The Gottstein Trust has established a Scholarship fund available for undergraduates or postgraduate students undertaking a bachelor degree, graduate diploma or masters degree in forestry, forest science or wood science. The scholarship will provide funds of $5,000 per annum to each successful applicants for up to three years, subject to appropriate progression of study and achievements. The funds will be made available to the Scholarship holder for the purpose of meeting living, relocation and education-related expenses.

The Joseph William Gottstein Memorial Trust offers The Gottstein Fellowships to people from or associated with Australian forest industries for the year 2010/11 in Australia

Since its formation, the Gottstein Trust has awarded more than 110 Fellowships. The Gottstein Fellowship consists of a grant that is awarded to people from, or associated with, Australian forest industries. The grant allows those selected to conduct research projects and further their experience, education or training, either within or outside Australia. Ninety percent of the grant is payable to the Fellow on commencement and the remaining ten percent is payable within thirty days of the receipt of the final report. Copyright of the work done under the Fellowship program is assigned to the Trustees.
