The EFC AGA and Conference Scholarship Programme is now open for applications. The scholarship programme is generously supported by: Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, EVKAF, Fondazione CRT, the Global Fund for Women, Realdania and Robert Bosch Stiftung. This scholarship fund has been generously funded by EFC members and is aimed at foundation staff worldwide, with special emphasis on participants whose attendance can be directly linked to the conference theme.

The Katholieke Universiteit Leuven offers The VLIR UOS Masters Programs to graduate students in Water Resources Engineering for the year 2010/11 in Belgium
The Master programme of Water Resources Engineering is a two-year study programme with a total study load of 120 ECTS, equally spread over the 2 years. The first year consists of courses in Advanced Mathematics for Water Engineering, Statistics for Water Engineering, Irrigation Agronomy, Aquatic Ecology, Hydraulics, Surface Hydrology, Groundwater Hydrology, and water Quality Assessment, Monitoring and Treatment; and workshops in Hydrological Data Processing and GIS, and Hydrological Measurements and Remote Sensing. The second year of the Master programme has a total study load of 60 ECTS credits and consists of a common core of 2 courses (Systems Approach to Water Management, and Social, Political, Institutional, Economic and Environmental Aspects of Water Resources), an integrated project design (arid or humid case) and a Master thesis. In addition, the student selects three optional courses from the following list: Surface Water Modelling, Groundwater Modelling, River Modelling, Urban Hydrology and Hydraulics, Soil Water Modelling, Irrigation Design and Management, Advanced Aquatic Ecology, and any course relevant to water resources engineering, subject to approval by the Programme Committee.

The University of Ghent offers The VLIR UOS Masters Programs in Physical Land Resources to Graduate Students for the year 2010/11 in Belgium
The purpose of the main subject in Soil Science is to train researchers, academics and government staff in the inventory and detailed characterisation of land capacity, particularly soils. Graduates understand the development and evolution of soils under natural conditions or following human interference, using field, map, laboratory and remote-sensing data. They have the knowledge to use and manage soil and water in a sustainable way and optimize land use. The main subject in Land Resources Engineering offers training in non-agricultural use and application of soil, and includes geotechnical aspects (use of soil as building material or for foundations, slope stability and stability of excavations), the role of soil water and groundwater for water management and supply, and soil management in relation to environment and land use (erosion, sediment transport, coastal development and protection).

You will find on this site a list of international courses and training programmes for which there is a possibility of scholarship and the modalities of introduction of an application file as well as the rules of selection.
