The Cyprus American Archaeological Research Institue offers The CAARI Senior Residence Scholarships to PhD Scholars archaeology or ancillary field for the year 2010/11 in Cyprus
An established scholar who commits to stay at least 30 days in succession at CAARI, ideally in the summer, and to be available in evenings and weekends to younger scholars working there, in return for 50% reduction in residency rate. Must have PhD in archaeology or ancillary field for at least 5 years prior to visit, be fluent in English (but may be of any nationality), and be committed to mentoring students. Travel, other expenses not covered.

Position Description:
Applications are invited for a one-year post-doctoral fellowship in atmospheric remote sensing and modeling research programmes in the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics. Preference is for candidates with a PhD degree in an appropriate discipline with research and publication experience in their area of expertise. The candidate will work in a lively research environment and should have good team working skills. The candidate will work at the Remote Sensing Laboratory of the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics. The facilities of the Remote Sensing Laboratory include hardware and software for image processing and geospatial analysis, as well as a wide array of supporting equipment such as 3 field spectro-radiometers, 2 sun-photometers, 1 CIMEL sun photometer system, lidar backscattering system, etc. The candidates should have a scientific education either in meteorology, physics, physical chemistry, or other related fields including engineering or other related area, with excellent qualification.
