Erasmus Mundus Master’s Programme 2010/11-Biomedical Engineering-The Netherlands

The University of Groningen offers The Erasmus Mundus Master’s Programme to  EU students in Biomedical Engineering for the year 2010/11 in The Netherlands

Current-day medical practice relies increasingly on technology, such as microelectronics, information technology and mechanical and materials engineering. In this multidisciplinary setting of medical sciences, natural sciences and engineering technology, biomedical engineers develop new methods for the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The results of their efforts may range from ever more advanced imaging instruments to scaffolds for tissue engineering, and from modelling software to new surgical appliances. In a clinical environment, they may be responsible for setting up, adapting and maintaining state-of-the-art medical facilities.

The University of Groningen offers The PhD Programme for the year 2010/11 in The Netherlands

In the four year PhD programmes, students conduct their own research while the respective  Graduate  School  provides a balanced mix of expert supervision, tailor-made postgraduate training and the freedom to pursue your own ideas within relevant research themes. In some cases part of the research is carried out abroad and many international PhD candidates are welcomed for short stays as well. The results are written down in a PhD thesis, often including papers published in scientific journals. After a successful defence, you will be awarded with an internationally highly esteemed PhD degree. In addition to 4-year full-time programmes, variants are possible: e.g. combining a PhD with work outside the university environment.

The Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study offers The Golestan Fellowships for the year 2010/11 to Non Dutch Scholars in Netherlands

Golestan Fellowships were established by the late Prof. Dr. Med. Kenower Weimar Bash, a Swiss psychiatrist who was a NIAS Fellow during the academic year 1973/74, and who, upon his death in 1986, left his estate to the NIAS Fellows’ Association (NFA). The NFA created a special foundation, the Golestan Foundation, to administer the estate. Professor Bash worked extensively in Iran; Golestan is the Persian word for rose garden.

The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) offers The Cooperation South Korea (KOSEF) Programme to Highly qualified and experienced researchers for the year 2010/11 in South Korea and Netherlands

NWO has a cooperation agreement with the National Research Foundation of South Korea, Korea Science and Engineering Foundation (NRF KOSEF). The programme gives South Korean researchers the opportunity of a short stay in the Netherlands and Dutch researchers the chance to visit South Korea. The programme also helps to fund joint seminars held in South Korea or the Netherlands.
