The Organisation of American States [OAS] is offering scholarships to nationals of member states for the academic year 2011/2012.
These scholarships are offered for study leading to a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral Degree and may also be used for graduate research leading to a Degree. Additionally, the awards are for the last two years of study and may be utilized in the United States of America, Canada or other OAS member states.

The American Library Association and The Young Adult Library Services Association offers The Spectrum Scholarships for the year 2011 in USA
The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) continues its commitment to diversity in the library profession by announcing its support of the American Library Association’s (ALA) Spectrum Scholarship Program and this year’s special Spectrum Presidential Initiative. In 2011, YALSA will fund one Spectrum Scholarship for an individual interested in pursuing young adult services as a career. This is the third straight year that YALSA has sponsored a Spectrum Scholar. The Spectrum Scholarship consists of $5,000 for tuition reimbursement and $1,500 towards the scholar’s participation in the Spectrum Leadership Institute at the ALA Annual Conference.

The MEME (the Erasmus Mundus Master Programme in Evolutionary Biology) is offered for the year 2010/11 to talented and motivated students who are interested in understanding evolution in all its facets in UK/USA
MEME (the Erasmus Mundus Master Programme in Evolutionary Biology) is a new two-year research oriented master programme for talented and motivated students who are interested in understanding evolution in all its facets. MEME is a joint project between four European universities (University of Groningen, Netherlands; Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich, Germany; Uppsala University, Sweden; University of Montpellier II, France) and Harvard University (USA). Students will start the programme at one of these universities, and will spend at least one semester at a partner university. Upon completion of the program, students will be awarded double or (in some cases) triple degrees from two or three partner universities.

The University of Notre Dame, the Center for the Philosophy of Religion and The John Templeton Foundation, are pleased to announce the “Templeton Dissertation Fellowships in Early Modern Philosophy of Religion and Theology” program for 2011-13 in Indiana, USA
The Center for Philosophy of Religion invites doctoral candidates working in the areas of early modern philosophy of religion and/or theology to apply for a one-year fellowship. (Fellowship recipients in 2011 may apply for renewal of their fellowships in 2012.) The Program aims at encouraging Ph.D. students to pursue research in this area while in residence as dissertation fellows in the Center for Philosophy of Religion. The program will award up to two dissertation fellowships in 2011-2012 and up to two in 2012-2013.
The Templeton Dissertation Fellowships in Early Modern Philosophy of Religion and Theology offer two to four dissertation fellowships devoted to inquiry into the problem of evil as it is treated in early modern philosophy of religion and/or theology. Fellowships are aimed at dissertation research which provides new insights into the way in which the nature and reality of evil were treated in the distinctive intellectual culture of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, characterized as it was by distinctive intellectual trends including the maturation of the Reformation, the rise of modern science, etc.

Approximately 10 Fulbright Outreach Program fellowships will be awarded by The United States-Israel Educational Foundation (USIEF) to outstanding students planning to begin Master’s or doctoral degree studies at American universities in the fall semester of the 2011/2012 academic year.
This program is open to students in all fields of study, except those in which hands-on contact with patients is required. Students in medicine, dental medicine, veterinary medicine, nursing and other programs which involve treatment of patients are not eligible for Fulbright grants.
Awards are limited to students holding a first or second degree before their departure to begin studies in the United States. Before taking up their grants, those selected as program fellows will be required to provide proof that they have been awarded at least a Bachelor’s degree.
Individuals who have already received a Master’s degree are not eligible to request an Outreach Fellowships in support of study towards the receipt of an additional Master’s degree. Students holding an Israeli LLM may be exempted from this rule, if it is their intention to acquire an American LLM in order to be able to undertake further studies in the US towards the receipt of a JSD degree.

2011-2012 The Steinbeck Fellows Program of San José State University (SJSU), which was endowed through the generosity of Martha Heasley Cox, offers new writers of any age and background the opportunity to pursue a significant writing project while in residence at SJSU.
The Steinbeck Fellowship Program is named in honor of author John Steinbeck and is guided by his lifetime of work in literature, the media, and environmental activism. Fellows may be appointed in many fields, including literary scholarship, fiction, drama, education, science, and the media. The genre of poetry is excluded. The program offers the opportunity to interact with other writers, faculty and graduate students, and to share their work in progress by giving a public reading once each semester during the fellowship. The fellowships afford a stipend of $10,000. Housing assistance is available, depending upon need. Residency in the San José area is required during the academic year (01 September – 20 May).
