Scholarships 2009 For Graduate Students – The Duncan And Morag MacLean Studentship 2009 For Masters Programme In Celtic / Gaelic Studies At The University Of Glasgow – UK
Scholarship Introduction:
A postgraduate studentship has been endowed to benefit postgraduate students, with priority being given to those applicants who are natives of the Highlands and Western Islands of Scotland, but not excluding prospective students from elsewhere who demostrate a passion for Celtic/Gaelic Studies and intedn prusuing a career in teaching, education or research.
Eligibility For Scholarships:
- The holder of the Duncan and Morag Maclena Studentship will be required to submit a brief report on his/her progress to the Head of the Department of Celtic at the end of the academic session in which the studentship is held, together with a progress or final report(whichever is applicable) from his/her supervisor.
- The recipient of the Studentship is requested to acknowledge support from the Duncan and Morag Maclean Studentship in their final thesis and in publications arising from the PG research funded by the Studentship.
How to Apply:
- Application should be submitted to Roinn na Celtis/Department of Celtic, Modern Languages Building, University Gardens, G12 8QQ not later than Friday, 10 July, 2009 and should include:
- A fully collated curriculum vitae including the names and addresses (also email) of two referees (bound copies are not necessary).
- A covering letter explaining why you wish to be considered for this Studentship, detailing any other funding secured and / or applied for in connection with your PG Master’s programme.
- A brief outline of your current research interests (approx. one page).
